Paul West:"A considerable amount of information was obtained from a manuscript written by Mr. Arthur Grimshaw’s second wife, Naomi Cavender . She was much younger than Arthur. Shortly after their marriage they visited Scoiota [sic] County, Ohio and received much family information from talking to the older people in the area. They also vi si ted the Sciota County Courthouse and searched through the old records. Mrs. Grimshaw mailed a copy of her findings to my mother, Marie. When mother died, Iinherited this manuscript which I how have in my historical library.", Principal=Naomi Cavender2,1

Religion* circa 1890  Uncle Arthur was converted when just a boy seventeen years of age. He walked with God and served him faithfully for over 70 years. He identified himself with the Valley Chapel Church of God (Independent Holiness Peop!e) of which his father, M.J. Grimshaw, Selah P. Thayer, and uncle Lafe Epperson were’ the original trustees. The old church building was constructed in 1886. Destroyed by fire in 1914.3
